REMEMBERING CHUCK LILLIGREN (1928-2017)
Chuck Lilligren began his radio career with positions in Columbus, OH, and Duluth, MN. He later joined WCCO Radio where he served as Farm Service Director for 24 years. In this role, he not only reported on agricultural issues but also engaged directly with the farming community, reflecting his own experience as a farmer. Lilligren showed Morgan horses that he raised at his farm in Ham Lake.
At WCCO, Lilligren became a familiar voice to listeners, delivering farm news, market reports, and weather updates. He also contributed to the early days of the Sports Huddle show, a Sunday morning program that began in 1981 co-hosting alongside Sid Hartman.
After his time at WCCO, Lilligren continued his broadcasting career with stints at KSTP-AM and KLBB-AM. Lilligren passed away in 2017 at the age of 89.
