Harmon Killebrew was a prolific power hitter who spent most of his 22-year career in Major League Baseball with the Minnesota Twins. At the time of his retirement Killebrew had the fifth-most home runs in major league history.

WCCO RADIO'S "THE DREAM SERIES" 1965 MINNESOTA TWINS VS. 1987 MINNESOTA TWINS

What would have happened if the 1965 MN Twins team had the opportunity to play against the 1987 MN Twins team? We are presenting a wonderful theater of the mind "Dream Series" broadcast that aired on WCCO Radio and many of the MN Twins affiliate radio stations featuring such a matchup. We have the complete broadcast for Game #2. This broadcast took place on March 28. 1991.

The Dream Series starts off with the "On Deck Show" hosted by Mike Woodley with interviews with Dan Gladden, Harmon Killebrew, Jim Kaat, Zoilo Versalles, Don Mincher, and Earl Battey. Sid Hartman's "The Lead Off Man" interview features Jim "Mudcat" Grant. Herb Carneal and John Gordon announce the play-by-play.

Includes tributes by William Harridge, President of the American League; Ford Frick, President of the National League; Mel Allen (an American sportscaster, best known for his long tenure as the primary play-by-play announcer for the New York Yankees), Clark Griffith, owner of the Washington Senators; Babe Ruth interview from 1937 (while hunting); Tom Zachary (19-year career in Major League Baseball that lasted from 1918 to 1936); Waite Hoyt (an American right-handed professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for seven different teams during 1918–1938); Albert Chandler (Commissioner of Baseball from 1945 to 1951); and a report from Bob Emerick at Yankee Stadium where Babe Ruth's funeral took place and thousands of fans got a chance to walk past the open casket of the famous home run hitter.
